When you protect your valuables, your family or your company with the help of Sacramento Valley Alarm Security Systems, Inc. (SVA), you are putting faith in a company with a rich history of hard work, perseverance and a commitment to quality service. Such service first derived from SVA;s affiliated company, Certified Safe & Lock Services (SLS) when Everett and Laura Nibbelink purchased the company in 1954. This husband and wife team ran CSLS virtually all by themselves for eleven years. They received some help from the two people they employed and by their second oldest son, Greg Nibbelink, and then eventually their own daughter, Diane Goulding. As Greg grew older, his focus shifted away from the safe and lock industry over to a rapidly growing industry of burglar and fire alarms. Although Greg began trying to persuade his parents to expand the business into alarms in 1968, three years passed before he made any headway. It was in June of 1971 that Sacramento Valley Alarm Security Systems, Inc. was established, which was also the same year Greg married his wife Bev. She eventually helped in the office. As Greg was the sole employee with any knowledge of alarms, he took on the role of salesman, installer, on-call night man, and any other jobs that needed to be done. The actual alarm monitoring was done through an answering service, thus leaving Everett to tend to the management of CSLS and Laura to answer the phones and do all the bookkeeping for both CSLS and SVA. Within six months of SVA's establishment, Diane, Greg's sister, joined the family business and was in charge of all office duties. Within one year of SVA's opening, the business found itself expanding enough to demand a full-time installer. This eased Greg's workload and SVA's first outside employee was hired. |

| As SVA grew, so did the company's goals. Everett, Laura, Greg, Bev and Diane hoped to eventually own their own Underwriters Laboratories (U.L.) Listed Central Station. where alarms would be monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by their own employees. In 1979 that goal seemed more attainable when they set u their own monitoring location next door to CSLS. They hired enough employees to do the necessary monitoring. It wasn't yet a U.L. Central Station, but it was one step closer. | ||||||||||

Meanwhile, Greg was becoming increasingly interested in the idea of monitoring alarms using computers. However, computers were much more expensive then they are today. Greg continued to learn about the potential of using computers as monitoring devices, while the family budgeted to invest in computing equipment. Eventually, the computers were purchased, but unfortunately no software existed that could serve their needs. SVA needed and hired a programmer. Together, he and Greg wrote all the computer programs that could do everything from receiving alarm signals to doing the monthly billing. |

| The goal of achieving a U.L. Central Station became a reality in 1980 and SVA became Diane and Greg's full time responsibility. This is the only locally owned and operated U.L. Central Station in the Sacramento area. | ||||||||||
| In 1997 a third generation of the family entered the business full time. Greg's son, Brad Nibbelink and Diane's son, Bryan Goulding came to work at SVA. Although they worked at SVA part time since they were teenagers, they are now directly involved in the day-to-day operations of SVA and CSLS. | ||||||||||
| Since our beginning, this business has grown and it continues to grow. SVA employs over 25 people. Some have been with the company for more than 25 years, and all of them are bonded and licensed by the California State Department of Consumer Affairs. SVA's employees are devoted to be giving the best service they offer. Everyone in the company realizes our customers help to make us what we are today. Actually, it may be a family member that arrives at your home or business to meet your security needs. | ||||||||||

"It is through hard work and diligence, and by committing to offer only the best quality service and products, that we have grown to what we are today - the only locally, family owned and operated, installation, service and monitoring U.L. Central Station in Sacramento. We are a proud business; proud of the accomplishments we have achieved; proud to be member of: California Alarm Association, National Alarm & Fire Alarm Association, Sacramento Alarm Association, California Automatic Fire Alarm Association, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and Underwriter Laboratories; and finally, but most importantly, proud to be at your service." |
